My Health, My Happiness

After watching the VS Fashion Show last night, it made me feel nothing but proud of myself. I’m 5’3” can dead lift over 180lbs, run several miles in a good time and now eat carbs without crying. Overcoming Anorexia is one of the hardest things I’ve EVER had to face. I never wanted it, never wanted this torture for myself… but it found me. This past year has been a roller coaster physically, mentally and emotionally. But I am strong! I have not and WILL NOT give up! I’ve pushed myself so far in this journey, and things will only get better.

Instead of body shaming, I thought “damn girl- you’re just like them just a foot too short” and I also thought, “I could squat with two of those girls on my back”. Strength is beauty. Many of those girls live very healthy life styles, so I don’t shame them. They have to manage to feel comfortable in their own skin while being scrutinized by thousands of people everyday.

We’re all in the same boat, trying to love ourselves for all that we are.. so embrace that temple of yours because it’s all you got!
